Different perspectives. Better research. Meaningful change.
Everyone has a story. Here is ours.
NEXT-GENDER is an international, interdisciplinary network of researchers and experts helping universities, research organisations, funding bodies and innovation teams integrate sex, gender, diversity and intersectional perspectives into research, education and institutional practice.
Who we are
One network.
Many disciplines.
International researchers and experts working together for more inclusive and rigorous research.
We bring together expertise spanning research methodology, institutional change, responsible innovation, artificial intelligence, higher education, research ethics, scientific communication and evidence-informed policymaking.

1- Examine established approaches
We question the assumptions behind research questions, methods and institutional routines.
2 - Identify blind spots
We question the assumptions behind research questions, methods and institutional routines.
3 - Develop inclusive, rigorous practices

What we believe
More than a requirement.
Tell us about your needs, your audience and your objectives. We will help you explore the most suitable training format or combination of expertise.
NEXT-GENDER turns interdisciplinary expertise into practical learning and institutional capacity.
Our story
From European research cooperation to an international network of expertise
2021–2025 · VOICES
NEXT-GENDER builds on the experience of VOICES (COST Action CA20137), a European research network dedicated to addressing gender inequalities and strengthening the participation and visibility of researchers in scientific communities.
VOICES brought together researchers from different disciplines, countries and institutional contexts to exchange knowledge, examine inequalities and develop collaborative approaches to gender equality in research.
HE GAP
This experience highlighted an important gap between growing institutional commitments to gender equality and the practical knowledge needed to integrate sex, gender and intersectionality into research design, evaluation and everyday academic practice.
COST INNOVATORS GRANT
NEXT-GENDER was developed through a COST Innovators Grant to respond to this challenge, transforming accumulated expertise into training methodologies, collaborative learning experiences and practical resources for researchers and evaluators.
TODAY
Building on this foundation, NEXT-GENDER brings together complementary areas of expertise and offers training and capacity-building activities adapted to the needs of universities, research centres, research teams and other organisations.

Our approuch
Beyond awareness. Towards practical change.
We believe that meaningful learning begins when participants connect new perspectives with their own research, institutional challenges and professional practice.
Our training combines scientific expertise with active, participatory and co-creative methodologies. Through real-world cases, structured reflection, peer exchange and practical tools, participants work directly on the questions and challenges that matter to them.
Rather than providing one-size-fits-all solutions, we create learning environments where different disciplinary perspectives can meet, assumptions can be challenged and actionable next steps can emerge.
